From Ljubljana take the Vodice exit from the Lj – Kranj motorway. Turn right at the intersection, past the MOL petrol station. At the traffic light, turn left and follow the road to Spodnji Brnik.
Go straight across at the roundabout towards Krvavec. Pass through the town of Cerklje na Gorenjskem and follow the signs for the Krvavec cable car to the village of Grad. Go straight through the village past the “Tonač” pizzeria and soon after take a right-hand turn up the hill towards Ambrož pod Krvavcem.
Here you must turn right up the hill.
Follow this road for several kilometres and turn left at the first intersection (not straight on to Apno). Direction: Ambrož pod Krvavcem.
Here you must turn left up the hill.
After several kilometres, you will come to another intersection in a
clearing/field. Turn right after the hay-drying rack up the hill (not straight on towards Stiška vas).
Follow the winding mountain road for several kilometres as far as the large
parking space on a plateau where the asphalt road ends. You will see the large TV tower on Krvavec. This is the place where you will meet the owner near the barrier at the left-hand end of this large parkplace.
Turn left at the barrier at the end of the parking space. Go past the barrier on your left for around 1 kilometre as far as the wooden cottage in the middle of the woods, where there are several signposts. Go left for another 300 metres.
Here you must turn left.
You will come to an intersection where there is a small area for parking on the left-hand side. Turn right up the hill (arrow for “Pr Florjan”).
Here you must turn right up the hill.
After 100 metres you will see the Alpinka cottage on the right. You have
arrived! Turn right after the large rock on the right-hand side of the road. This takes you to the house. This last part of the road is steep so do not stop.
It’s about 50 minutes’ drive from Ljubljana. In the summer, you can pull right up to the house. In the winter, you can get within 30 metres.
In the winter good winter tires and chains in the boot are mandatory just in case.
